Pumpkin Carving

For Family Home Evening on Monday night we decided to carve some pumpkins. Madee didn't like the gooey innards of the pumpkin so much but I think she did like drawing on the pumpkins and having help cutting her Jack o'lantern's faces out.
This it the greatest picture. Madee actually took it and she is becoming quite our little photographer.
Madee helped her Daddy put the candles in the Jack o'lanterns and we turned out all the lights so we could look at them in the dark and see how scary they are.
Madee is doing her very scary face next to her pumpkin. Happy Halloween Everyone!!

Growing Bigger

Madee just keeps getting bigger everyday. Her hair is really long and beautiful but she rarely lets me brush it or do anything with it. She will not let me cut it at all either. Which is what I feel like doing when she does not let me brush it. It looks really cute in this picture though. Silly cute girl.
Sam now sits up on his own at five month old. He is a cutie too. He giggles sometimes but mostly when Madee is around. She can sure get him to laugh.
I needed to get some pictures of them more recent so we did a little photo shoot. It was kind of fun and Madee was really helpful.
We even pulled the pumpkins out. For Family home evening we went and picked out some good pumpkins for halloween and the fall. Madee loved doing that.

Happy Birthday Madee

So I am a little slow posting this but Madee had her third birthday last friday and she loved it so much she wanted to have a birthday everyday.
She got a barbie cake I am kind of proud of the cake besides the fact that some of the writing is different colors. She is wearing a beautiful cake gown. Madee loved it.
We had Madee's cousins over for the party and Garhett started beating Sam up a little bit. Garhett is one.
Last of all I got Sam to smile again in a picture. Seems like he is always smiling but its hard to get him to smile in a picture. He is just so mesmorized by the orange light he forgets to smile.

I love our kids

Can I just share how much I love our children. Sam is getting so big and starting to hold his head up so much longer. He talks all the time and loves to be talked to and he just wants to get moving. He pushes his legs up like he is ready to crawl but has no idea what to do with his hands. I sure do love our special little man. I am so greatful that he is part of our family.
Every kid is so different and we are seeing that so much with Sam around. Madee loves her little brother so much and helps when ever we let her. She loves to hug Sam and make him smile and loves to give him his bottle or just hold him in her lap.
We are the luckiest parents in the world to be blessed with these two little ones.
Lincoln is such a good daddy and my favorite part of the day is when he comes home from work and just tickle tickle tickles Madee until she falls off the couch. She loves to climb all over him and yes he is her own personal jungle gym.
Sam loves to be apart of it all too. Being Mommy's and Daddy's is the greatest Job. We should never forget that.

Frost Family Campground

For the last three years the Denny's have gotten together with our good friends the Frost family and done a camping trip together. The first year we went to Cherry campground last year we went to Maple Lake and this year it was suppose to be Albion campground. Well we drove up there and it was full so we had to try and make other arrangements. We called all the campgrounds close by and to our disappointment they were all full. So we went to this really great camp ground called the Frost Family Campground. The Prices were great and flush toilets we really liked. They even had grassy camping spots. Ok so we ended up camping in there backyard but it was still fun. the pictures are kind of out of order but this first one is of Meghan roasting mini marsh mellows on the coals for our dutch oven dessert in her back yard.

This is a picture of the area by Albion Campground. We got there at 12:30pm and it was all full but we decided since we drove all the way up little Cottonwood Canyon we were at least going to have a picnic and a little hike there too. Cecert Lake was not very far away and we decide to go check it our. But after not very long the kids were too heavy and we were to hungry we stopped on the side of the trail and ate lunch and then headed back down the canyon.
The hike was actually pretty fun from what we did of it. Beautiful wild flowers and scenery.
Madee was actually choking Lincoln for part of the hike. We are such wussies not doing the whole thing. It was less then a mile hike but trying to do it in flip flops is not the best idea.
Before we headed to the frost house we met up with them at Storm Mountain Day use area in the big cottonwood canyon. It was really nice and hardly anyone was there. So we taught the girls to climb trees and played some phase ten card game and ate a really yummy stew Meghan made.
Here is Lauren and Madee getting ready to spend the night in the backyard camping. They had a fun time running around together. We still got to dutch oven and enjoy a beautiful moon and lets not forget the freezing cold temperatures and hardly any sleep. Camping is great!! Thanks Frost Family. We had a fun camping trip even if it wasn't exactly what we planned. We still had a great time. Maybe next year we will reserve a spot. :)

What the Denny kids are up to!

Today was a wonderful day for Madee. After a whole summer of begging her and pleading with her to go poopie on the potty she finally did it today. As a reward we promised her that she could get a bike of her own. So after work Lincoln took her to the store to get a bike, Helmet (for safty) and some tassels of coarse for her very own bike. Yeah! Madee I knew you could do it. We are one step closer to complete potty training.
Sam had been doing some new tricks as well. Along with the beautiful smile he has and his constant chit chatting. He can now Roll from his side on to his belly. When he gets to his belly he usually gets upset but he can roll there himself. The other trick Sammie does is finger munching. He gets those things in his mouth and goes to town. He loves them. Its keeps him quiet a bit longer too.

Fun in the sun

Both my kids are getting so big. I just can't believe that we are almost parents of a three year old and Sam is three months already. Getting big! I love my little ones so much..even if Madee never lets me do her hair.
Madee's Favorite thing to do this summer is being in water. She loves pools but she likes the sprinkler too. Jumping through the middle of it was a very fun activity the other day. Keeps her cool on these hot summer days.
So Happy Anniversary to us. Lincoln and I had our fourth Anniversary on the 31st of July. He got me some very beautiful flowers and I loved the. Sadly he had to work late on our actual Anniversary (We are talking till midnight) but made up for it on the next day by going Golfing together, no kids, I am sadly out of practice with my golf swing. Sore arms too. We also got away in the evening and went and saw the new Bat Man Movie. It was really good on the big screen but pretty long. We had a great time together though. I love you Lincoln! Its been four wonderful years. Feels like I have known you so much longer then that.
Silly Goose what a face!
